TALAJOLTÓANYAGOK ÚJ GENERÁCIÓJA

BioFil Microbiological, Gene-technological and Biochemical Ltd has built up significant professional routine in the compilation of various microbial soil inoculants. The company is involved in the development of new generation soil inoculants in the framework of an EU-supported project. The market is very interested in these new products.

Worldwide, as well as in Hungary, the majority of economically significant food-, and forage growing fields include soils with low fertility. In Hungary more than 40% of the arable area has low fertility and is degraded regarding microbial soil life (very acidic, saline soils with eroded structure). Poor soil conditions hamper agriculural productivity and environmentally sustainable crop cultivation in these areas.

The created new generation of soil inoculants is compiled of naturally occurring strains of soil bacteria (non-GMOs) that are stress-tolerant and adapted to harsh enviromnent, which can effectively stimulate crop growth, resistance and yield on special soils. The bacteria are selected by the researchers of BioFil Ltd., in cooperation with their strategic partners, using state-of-the-art microbiological, molecular biological and biotechnological and tools. Inoculants will be produced with a novel technology to ensure easier field application and long-term viability of bacteria in the soil. The development will provide an environmentally friendly and complex microbiology-based tool to reduce the use of chemical fertilisers and ameliorators and to reduce environmental pressure.

The three-year project entitled "New generation complex soil inoculant for acidic and saline soils with special treatment needs" under the Operational Programme of central Hungary (KMOP-1.1.1.-09 / 1-2009-0023) is co-financed by the European Union. There is already a high market interest in the new products.
